Health and wellbeing in Tower Hamlets: a record of investigation

Since the industrial revolution when the area expanded massively, London's East End has long been associated with poor health outcomes. I was reflecting on this recently, and thought it would be interesting to see what today's health indicators might be. This is turning out harder than I expected. This page is a way of recording my amateur investigation.

I began by visiting the London Borough of Tower Hamlets website. What follows is not 'polished'; more a way of making a record and pulling together such data as I find.

Reports and documents

So far (July 2025) I have found these:
Tower Hamlets Annual Public Health Reports
As at July 2025, the lastest of these produced by a search on the LBTH Council website is for 2022: TH Annual Public Health Report 2022

Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNA)
"The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is a process through which the council's social care services (Education, Social Care and Wellbeing) work together with public health and NHS services to assess the needs of the Tower Hamlets population and determine priorities for commissioning services."
